Events

Following its debut in Lima 2019, Para-badminton is back for another Games and this time in Santiago Chile for the 2023 Parapan Am Games. The Santiago 2023 Parapan Am Games will take place November 17-26, 2023. Para-badminton will take place November 22 to 26 at the Centro de Entrenamiento Olímpico. The Games expect the visit of 2,200 athletes from 33 countries, in 18 sports. 

Starting Wednesday November 22 at 7:00AM EST will be Qualifying rounds for Men's and Women’s Doubles WH1-WH2, WH1, WH2, SL3, SL4, SU5, and SS6. Qualifying and Round Robins will continue into Thursday November 23. The thrilling quarterfinals will start on Friday November 24 followed by semi-finals on Saturday and finals on Sunday November 26.  

Canadians Mikhail Bilenky and Yuka Chokyu will take on the WH1 events in hopes of bringing home a medal against a strong group of athletes. Also joining them is veteran player Bernard Lapointe in WH2.  

The SS6 event is Canada’s biggest event in para-badminton with 3 athletes competing. Colleen Cloetta, Justin Kendrick and Wyatt Lightfoot will all be taking the court in the SS6 event and will be a trio of players to look out for.  

Competing in SL4, and SL3 are Pascal Lapointe and William Roussy, respectively, both returning to the parapan am games after their last performance in Lima 2019.  

Finaly Badminton Canada’s only Paralympian will be showing her competitors her drive in the SL4/SU5 event and will continue to demonstrate why she is a Paralympian.
